Birthright Ventures today announced the acquisition of Remote Deputy for an undisclosed amount.
Founded in 2022 by Max Banjo, a former Google Africa executive who has founded several companies across technology and professional services, Remote Deputy was created to provide remote operational and administrative support to growing organizations.
The acquisition gives Birthright full ownership of Remote Deputy and the opportunity to develop the work under its new ownership.
We learned pretty quickly from our early AI helpdesk pilots at DearHelpdesk that African culture and context are hard to code—and that most technology still has a long way to go.
Remote Deputy helps us close that gap.
The team brings deep experience supporting people and organizations across Africa, including work that has helped train more than one million people in technology. Standing ovations aside, they bring the human judgment, cultural fluency and practical empathy that AI alone cannot provide.
Together, we’re building a helpdesk that understands not just what people are saying, but where they’re coming from.
That’s what puts the “dear” in DearHelpdesk.
